My background

During my 40 years in horticulture, I have built up a vast store of knowledge and experience of gardens and plants. Having worked in a number of high-profile gardens and having loved working with a vast range of plants, I enjoy sharing my knowledge, enthusiasm and passion.I have judged at the international plant show at Chantilly in France, and at various Show Gardens and plant exhibits at Royal Horticultural Society shows such as RHS Chelsea Flower Show. All of these experiences have helped me develop a keen eye for detail and design, and knowledge of how to grow plants successfully.As a Head Gardener I have been involved with the design and development of a number of prestigious gardens including The Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens nr Burford in Oxfordshire and with the development of a private garden in the Lulworth Estate in Dorset.In recent times I have enjoyed the challenges of making the most of our ‘compact’ Poundbury garden.
Something of a 'plantaholic', I still relish encountering new varieties, discovering new gardens, and encountering new planting opportunities.
